Next public advisory meeting for AES Indiana’s 2022 Integrated Resource Plan to take place on Tuesday, April 12

The next public advisory meeting in AES Indiana’s integrated resource planning process is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12. AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), will host its second of five public advisory meetings for the public to participate in and learn more about the 2022 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) process. The virtual event is open to the public; registration is required.

The meeting will recap the first public advisory meeting, present load scenarios and market potential study results and introduce the replacement resource assumptions, scenario framework and portfolio matrix. The portfolio matrix will outline potential strategies under evaluation for coal-fired units in Petersburg including no retirement, refueling to gas, and retirement.

Meeting materials are available online now and include the agenda, presentation, fact sheet and a glossary of terms related to the IRP. Questions can be submitted in advance to AESIndianaIRP@aes.com or during dedicated Q&A portions of the event.

The IRP process is designed to consider a range of generation resource scenarios to best serve customers and communities over a 20-year period. By accounting for factors related to cost, safety and reliability, AES Indiana can ensure affordable and equitable energy service to its more than 512,000 customers for the long term.

AES Indiana welcomes feedback from the public to shape scenarios, develop metrics and clarify data in the 2022 IRP process. Each public advisory meeting will explore different elements that contribute to the overall 20-year outlook and short-term action plan leading up to the submission of AES Indiana’s IRP to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in Q4 2022.
