Look at your home in a whole new way during Energy Awareness Month

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), is encouraging customers to practice easy energy efficiency tips that give them the power to personally manage their energy usage during October, which is National Energy Awareness Month.
As temperatures begin to cool down this fall, there are a number of ways customers can manage their energy use with these easy tips:
- Take advantage of heat from the sun. Open window coverings to allow sunlight to naturally heat your home.
- Seal air leaks. Add caulk or weather stripping to seal air leaks around leaky doors and windows.
- Adjust the temperature. Set your thermostat to as low as comfortably possible. When you are asleep or out of the house, turn your thermostat back 10°--15° for eight hours to save energy and manage costs.
We also encourage customers to utilize IPL PowerView®. This web-based tool provides detailed, personalized information about how you use energy and how to manage your consumption, including charts, graphs and tips.
