IPL window lights to receive upgrade for “Shining a Light” community initiative

October 1, 2019

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), announced today the signature window light display on its 10-story downtown headquarters will be suspended in preparation for the “Shining a Light” on Monument Circle initiative launching November 9, 2019.

“IPL is committed to sharing our window lights with the community for years to come,” said Tanya Sovinski, Director, Community Relations for IPL. “We are excited to help implement the vision of a seasonally-themed light show and nightly signature salute honoring Indiana’s veterans.”

The project brings artistic video mapping, lighting and activation opportunities to the city’s most iconic public space, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on the Circle. IPL’s window lights are being upgraded to align with technology needs for this transformational project, led by Downtown Indy, Inc., and construction is expected to take several weeks as all new LED fixtures are installed.
