IPL teams up with Habitat for Humanity for panel build

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— More than 50 employees and leaders of Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), will spend the day on Wednesday, March 23 building “panels” to frame a brand-new home that will reside in West Indianapolis upon completion. The homeowner, Elsafi Yahia, will be on location helping IPL and Habitat for Humanity volunteers the day of the build.

WHEN:   7 a.m.  – Noon, Wednesday, March 23

WHERE:  IPL Morris Street Parking Lot, 1230 Morris Street, Indianapolis, IN 46221

VISUALS:  IPL employees, Habitat for Humanity volunteers, and the new homeowner will be working together to build the panels and assemble the home’s frame. An IPL representative will be available for interviews from 9 a.m. to noon at the IPL Morris Street Parking Lot.

BACKGROUND: IPL and its people are dedicated to making a difference in the communities in which we live and serve. Through many volunteer opportunities, more than 24,000 volunteer hours were recorded in 2014. IPL previously hosted a panel build for Habitat for Humanity in 2013.
