IPL highlights #INthistogether with April window light displays

April 5, 2020

Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), is recognizing Governor Eric J. Holcomb’s statewide #INthistogether campaign to equip everyone with the knowledge and resources to stay connected and motivated in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

IPL will highlight various Hoosier heroes over the next week through its window lights displays. The displays begin around 8:45 p.m. Groups and campaigns to be recognized by IPL include:

  • #INthistogether and #stayIN – April 5
  • Thanks, IMPD – April 6
  • Thanks, Healthcare Heroes – April 7
  • Thanks, Service Industry – April 8
  • Thanks, IFD – April 9
  • Thanks, EMT – April 10

IPL’s 10-story downtown headquarters shines brightly every night with a light display which consists of energy-efficient, long-lasting bulbs and is controlled via a computer. Each window in the IPL building holds one LED luminar with a set of 12 red, green and blue LED lights. When mixed together, the computer controller can produce more than 16 million different hues.

IPL is currently collaborating with Downtown Indy, Inc., using its window displays to promote togetherness and awareness during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, more than ever, is a time for supporting each other and sharing love around the world. Utilizing special "Shining a Light" technology on Monument Circle, Downtown Indy, Inc., Innovative and Dodd Technologies are producing a special light presentation that illuminates love and hope to the world nightly from the heart of Downtown Indianapolis from 9 p.m. to midnight on the IPL electric building. Watch a video of the light presentation.

We may be social distancing, but we can stay connected. Join us on social media to share your window lights photos. Please tag @IPLpower and use the hashtag #INthistogether.
