IPL Coloring Contest to determine who will “flip the switch” for Circle of Lights
November 2, 2020
That magical moment is quickly approaching where one lucky child will have the opportunity to “flip the switch” for the Downtown Indy, Inc. Circle of Lights® presented by IBEW 481 on Friday, Nov. 27. Children ages 3-12 can enter the IPL Coloring Contest, which runs now through Nov. 16, by decorating the official coloring sheet of a large holiday light bulb.
Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) and Downtown Indy, Inc. invite children from all over Indiana to participate. Once again, five $529 CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Plans will be awarded to five finalists, based on creativity. The one entry that receives the most votes from our panel will be selected to “flip the switch” for the Circle of Lights. This year the Nov. 27 celebration will be a made-for-TV event broadcast exclusively on WTHR Channel 13 at 7 p.m. (There is NOT a live event on Monument Circle.)
"IPL is thrilled to sponsor the Coloring Contest again, giving children all across the state of Indiana an opportunity to take part in the Circle of Lights TV show,” said IPL President Kristina Lund. “We are committed to partnerships that are welcoming to all and dedicated to making a difference where we live, work and serve.”
Print coloring sheets at iplpower.com/Community or downtownindy.org/Coloring. The sheet will also be available in the IndyStar Nov 1, 5, 6, 8, 12 & 14.
Return IPL Coloring Contest entries by noon Nov. 16. Mail or drop off to: IBEW 481, 1828 N. Meridian St., Ste. 205, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
The Coloring Contest is presented by Indianapolis Power & Light Company in partnership with IBEW 481, CollegeChoice 529, WTHR and IndyStar.
