Rafael Sanchez named Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning
IPL announces key new additions and promotions

Rafael Sanchez joins IPL as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning. In this new role, Rafael will focus on strategic IPL business initiatives while helping to ensure IPL maintains safe, reliable and affordable electricity for its 480,000 residential and commercial customers. Sanchez will also have responsibility focused on achievement of the Company goals.
Most recently Sanchez served as Vice President of Business Development & Legal Affairs for Fineline Printing Group. Sanchez is a highly respected business executive and a committed community leader. He currently serves as Secretary for the Indy Chamber, Co-Chair for Plan 2020, Chair for Cancer Support Community, Executive Committee for the United Way of Central Indiana and a board member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Sanchez holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras and a law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School.
Tanya Sovinski has joined IPL as Director of Community Relations. As a member of IPL’s Public Affairs team, she will oversee the development, coordination and management of IPL’s charitable contributions, sponsorships, volunteer activities and engagement with more than 200 local not-for-profit organizations.
Sovinski brings diverse experience to IPL. Prior to her current position, she served as the Director of Development for Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Sovinski received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hanover College and is a graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Class XXXVIII. In addition, Sovinski serves on the Board of Directors for the Domestic Violence Network as well as Dig-IN.
Brad Riley has been promoted to Director of Strategic Accounts & Customer Programs. Riley joined IPL in 1980. In his current position, Riley is responsible for leading a veteran account management team who manage activities and programs for IPL’s largest commercial and industrial customers. He is also responsible for overseeing IPL’s Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency programs.
Riley is active in his church and serves on the boards of the Children’s Bureau, Develop Indy and the Builder Association of Greater Indianapolis.
