Employees to beautify Riverside Park during 9th annual IPL Day in the Parks

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Employees and leaders of Indianapolis Power &Light Company (IPL) and The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) will spend Tuesday, Oct. 8 working to improve and beautify Riverside Park, located just west of downtown.

This is the second consecutive year IPL employees and company leaders have volunteered to improve Riverside Park and the ninth annual IPL Day in the Parks initiative in partnership with Indy Parks and Recreation, Indianapolis Parks Foundation and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019

WHERE: Riverside Park – 2420 E. Riverside Dr., Indianapolis

VISUALS: Interview, b-roll and photo opportunities begin at 8 a.m. Remarks from IPL president Vince Parisi, Indianapolis Deputy Mayor Jeff Bennett and AES Sr. VP for Utility Operations Joe Bentley will be made at 11:45 a.m. at the IPL basketball courts located on the north side of Riverside Park near 29th St. and Riverside Dr.

BACKGROUND: Employees will complete a variety of tasks, such as general clean up, mulching, painting a new mural, rebuilding and adding new horseshoe pits and more. Having fun through work is one of IPL’s core values, and employees are provided the opportunity to enhance local parks in the communities in which they live and serve. IPL Day in the Parks is IPL’s signature community project and largest volunteer event annually.
