AES Indiana releases holiday window lights schedule

AES Indiana, a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), is releasing its holiday window lights schedule. The window lights come on after sunset every night on the AES Indiana building on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis and stay on until sunrise.

Here is the schedule for the holidays and the rest of month:

  • Dec. 23 – Yuletide / Tree
  • Dec. 24 – Christmas Eve → Red and green with “Merry Christmas” scroll
  • Dec. 25 – Christmas Day / Hanukkah → Red and green, blue and white with Merry Christmas, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll
  • Dec. 26 – Hanukkah / Kwanzaa / Pacers → Red, green and black, blue and white with Joyous Kwanzaa, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll, Pacers “P”
  • Dec. 27 – Hanukkah / Kwanzaa → Red, green and black, blue and white with Joyous Kwanzaa, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll
  • Dec. 28 – Hanukkah / Kwanzaa → Red, green and black, blue and white with Joyous Kwanzaa, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll
  • Dec. 29 – Hanukkah / Kwanzaa → Red, green and black, blue and white with Joyous Kwanzaa, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll
  • Dec. 30 – Hanukkah / Kwanzaa / Pacers → Red, green and black, blue and white with Joyous Kwanzaa, Chag Hanukkah Sameach scroll, Pacers “P”
  • Dec. 31 – New Year’s Eve / Pacers → Silver, gold and black with “Happy New Year!” scroll, Pacers “P”

AES Indiana window lights began in 1954 with red and green stripes for Christmas. Maintenance crews had to change each bulb by hand to get the different colors. Today, AES Indiana’s 10-story building has 267 individually controlled windows, each equipped with 36 high-efficiency bulbs that can generate 16 million different color combinations.
