IPL Employees to Beautify Martinsville Park and Community Center During 6th Annual IPL Day in the Parks

INDIANAPOLIS,Ind.— Employees and leaders of Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), will spend the day on Wednesday, June 15 working to improve and beautify Jimmy Nash City Park as well as a local nonprofit called Wellspring Center.  Nearly 75 IPL employees are expected to participate in this day of service.

WHEN:        8 a.m.  – 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 15

WHERE:       Jimmy Nash City Park – 360 N Home Avenue, Martinsville, IN
                     Wellspring Center – 301 W Harrison St, Martinsville, IN

VISUALS:    Our people will be working at Jimmy Nash City Park to rebuild steps going up the park hill and give several of the shelter houses a fresh coat of paint. IPL is proud to be the primary sponsor for the Fourth of July Martinsville fireworks display this year. Therefore, this cleanup day is timely before that celebration, since Martinsville will welcome thousands of people to the park over the holiday weekend. Our people will also take part in swing set repair, fence repair, and building a sandbox at Wellspring.

BACKGROUND: Day in the Parks is our signature community project and largest volunteer event. Just last month, more than 400 employees enhanced five parking in Indianapolis. Nearly 75 volunteers will spend their day in Martinsville, which is also home to IPL’s Eagle Valley Plant.
